If you're on the East Coast, you are no stranger to this crazy weather we're having. I absolutely hate the snow. I think it's pretty but I don't want to go out in it if at all possible. We already have accumulated about 15 to 20 inches that is now
somewhat out of the way. After yesterday, we were finally driving the normal speed limit and only slowing down for
questionable spots.Tonight and tomorrow promises more of the same. I'll be here hiding out from the snow.
Here's a picture of my little snow monster.
When the sun finally decided to appear and get rid of the snow we got overnight, I felt compelled to give my cell phone camera a try. It worked okay. So here are the pics that should've been in my last post.
Since this was supposed to be more gradual process, I didn't think to get a 'before' shot. Here's a picture of my locks with bunched ends from before I fixed them.

Here is a picture of my locks now.

Here's a more close up of the left side of my hair. From now on, I should be able to watch them mature but keep a close eye on the bunching so this doesn't happen again. It doesn't have to happen so I'll keep up on the maintenance.
Wah! Wah! I'm still whining about not having a camera anymore. I'll probably have to take a good look at my broken camera because this is becoming an issue for me. :-D
Anyhoo, I've finished the bunches in the top of my head. There are a few closer to top back of my head but for now, I've fixed about 50 locks and my head looks a lot smoother. I'm sure they will swell when they mature and I'm looking forward to that. I will take pictures of what my head looks like with the redone ends as soon as I can snatch a digital camera out of someone's hands. LOL.
Besides bunching, when I was going through my locks I've felt that the retightening I've done could have been a little tighter so I went in with my Nappylocks tool. I have the small and medium, I think. (I don't have the largest size). I have to say I really like it. I think I thought it was cumbersome to use before because I had fat ends on most of the locks in the top of my head. I was getting frustrated trying to make those bunched up ends fit into the eye of the tool.
Bottom Line: I think I will be using the Nappylocs tool from here on out. I did like the latchhook because it was bigger and whatnot, however, I don't feel it gets as close to the root as I like. I don't think it's healthy for locks to be too tight when they're retightened, but I did notice I want them to be close. I'll also be using the Nappylocs tool for the following reasons.
1. I don't tend to grab/snag any neighboring locks with it. (This was a little frustrating with the latchhook, thinking you're holding one lock and you look and realize you're holding another one.)
2. My tightening feels nice and snug.
3. It's overall very gentle.
4. I think I'll be able to retighten my head very quickly with it.
That's all for now folks!
